The rio is an older hotel/casino off the strip, so it's dated, but it's still nicer than most of the hotels in down town Las Vegas, but it has a tough time keeping up with the higher end hotel/casinos on the strip.. I would say the room upgrade was the best part of my stay although the rooms here should get upgraded because they are waaay dated. A not so great lounge, a horribly lame comedy/magic show, but hey @ least it's right off the strip and the suites are big, have refrigerators, and super cheap compared to some place like wynn or Caesars.. Just don't stay at the rio and expect it to be like the Venetian because you will get a ruuuude awakening!! The rio only good for the large sized cheap suite close to the strip! Boom ; )was refereed here for the seafood buffet. I was here as it was the host hotel for a training seminar. The hotel is starting to show its age. Food prices are what you would expect to pay in a hotel.. What I wasn't prepared for was the $9. The bed was very comfortable.. This place is a far cry from what it used to be 2. The casino floor, cocktail waitresses, decor, food and accommodations have all taken a big hit. If it weren't for that the room would have been grossly overpriced. If there wasn't the 'Resort Fee' tagged on it actually would have been a good deal and warranted a higher rating. Originally featured in Snowboard Mag 11.3: The Primitive Issue Rip Zinger. Housekeeping was adequate, asked for extra towels but never got them. I got exactly what I asked for in a timely Manor. The only thing missing, which even the front desk couldn't provide, was a itemized receipt of the room service charges. Well I think I'm done with Rio. They have tightened up all the machines to where you have to play so fast to get a free drink. By the time you blow through your money there is no bartender around and as you are looking for one, your play is now too slow. Nope, now it's an extra $1. My service was a zero as I sat around and stared at the tv when I experienced the disappearing bartenders again. Party of one shouldent get charged gratuity when the employees don't care because they know they already got their tip. It's getting to the point of looking someplace else for a weekend get away because this last trip was not fun or enjoyable at all. Thank you for the previous good times that I enjoyed there. Nice rooms, large casino floor and nice staff. And why go to Vegas if you're not on the strip. This was one of the main spots the wifey and I would visit back in the day (before kids). My wife even won a video poker tourney here one time netting a cool 1. K; royal flushes are possible and people do win. My wife wanted to take the money and throw it all on the bed but we took a check and some cash for fun. We spent many summer days out by the pool and have had cabanas in the past. The Rio has always been good to us and just like in the past on our most recent trip the Rio did us right. Make sure to use the new self check- in kiosks. It makes the process so much quicker. On this visit we used our Total Rewards players' cards to secure us 3 complimentary nights. Unfortunately, you will still be charged a resort fee of $3. I figured that was a wash for us since we had over $1. The room was decent for us. What I like about the Rio is the rooms are large. The rooms are mini- type suites. The couches and good sized desk are perfect. Plus, there is a nice lounge chair to kick up your feet. There was a refrigerator in the room but I did not figure that out until our final night. The bathroom area is great as well. Plenty of room for all your stuff and 2 sinks, one in the shower/toilet room and the other on the outside. The fitness center is included with your resort fee. There are plenty of treadmills and ellipticals, free weights, weight machines, etc. The weight area was very cramped and there was only 1 bench to use with the weights. I was able to get some good use out of the place. If you get there after 8am you might be competing for space. The carnival world buffet is okay. I should probably do a different review for that place. Room service is not available during the day after breakfast and begins promptly at 5pm and runs til 1. All of the employees at the hotel were great. I enjoyed myself at the Sportsbook. Plenty of drinks as long as you are betting. Overall, it was a great time. If you are looking at being close to the strip you should probably check out a different Harrah's property. They do offer a free shuttle but I suggest grabbing an uber/lyft back to the hotel. The uber/lyft area is next to the free shuttle and parking garage. I suggest visiting during the warmer months to get the full experience of the resort by taking advantage of their pool. Have fun and good luck! Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino is a very decent hotel for low price. It's located off of Flamingo near the Las Vegas Freeway (I- 1. I decided to try Rio again. The last time I stayed at the Rio was back in early 2. The room here was pretty cheap, $3. It got an great view of Las Vegas and the mountain. For $3. 0, you get a suite which is great for those who's on the budget or don't want to pay for a expensive hotel room elsewhere. Beds were comfy and beautiful. Line for check- in was long but went relatively quickly. Tried doing electronic check- in, but since the name on my credit card didn't match my ID, had to wait in line to check in. You can only order breakfast between 5am and 1. It's like this hotel forgot that it's Vegas and people don't sleep. Long lines at all times at the Sports Deli and Pho places. Plan 1. 5 to 3. 0 mins wait to order. Shower heads are low flow and the water pressure is not great. Big comfy couches in the rooms. Nice fridge, but no microwave. HVAC system could be much better. Rooms are fine, but casino floor is very smokey. Wish there had been a 3. This was my first time staying at this hotel and I had a great time. I usually only stay on the strip, but Rio is close to many things so it's not inconvenient. It's got a really cool carnivale vibe to it. The staff is courteous and kind. Although did feel for the women as they were pretty much in their underwear and is freezing in there! We got there an hour before and ended up killing time at a cafe. There was a sink in the bathroom and a separate area that had additional sinks. We also had a really nice view as well. There was a small fridge that came in handy with the leftovers we had. A microwave would've been nice to have, but it wasn't a deal breaker. They were the first to have all their rooms super sized and hence called all their rooms . The rooms we stayed in this trip have been redone, but many are still looking tired and old. They placed many of the guests that were supposed to stay here, but were relocated to other Ceasars properties on the strip. Things are changing here in Vegas and it's just not the same as it used to be. It may be best to just avoid all strip properties and get a bit more of a bang for your buck. I was here over the summer for a week long convention that I was attending. Other than staying for a convention because it is convenient.. I can't imagine why anyone would be willing to stay here. It's in dire need of a remodel in every aspect. The casino is old and run down.. Far from being a suite, it's a large room that resembles a Motel 6 at best. The carpet is old, dirty and worn out. The couch in the room has stains on it from who knows what.. I wouldn't sit on it. The bathroom was barely OK. Enough to get clean and be on your way. That's why they get two stars instead of one. Unfortunately, I'll be back this year for the same convention so even though they suck.. I'm stuck. If you can stay elsewhere, do yourself a favor and do so. I've been to the Rio a couple of times, during previous Vegas trips, but this was my first time staying there. I scored a great mid- week deal, between Christmas and New Year, that cost me $8. So fast and easy to navigate, so in less than 5 minutes, we had our room keys and a map on how to locate our tower elevators! The couch in our room was a tad worn/distressed and I was bummed it didn't pull out into a sleeper sofa. This trip was with my two daughters (1. King (instead of 2 queens), would have been a little cramped. So, the youngest chose to sleep on the couch. There wasn't any extra blankets, so I kept the heat up enough and gave her the sheet off the bed. It's the dumbest thing ever, in my opinion. Luckily, our room was in a tower close to Smashburger and I threw clothes on to order some there. Later, when we checked out, I saw the Starbucks line that was AT LEAST 2. You've got to be kidding me! I want my caffeine right when I wake up. Don't make me work for it people! I've eaten at the buffet here before many years ago, but never stayed here. In July, I booked 2 rooms 1 room with a King Bed and 1 room with 2 Queen Beds for our stay in September. When I went to check- in, the lady at reception said that I had 2 rooms with a King bed (uh, that's not right.) I showed her my receipts and said one of them was for 2 Queens. She asked if it were okay to switch that room to a 1 King instead, but we would get one of the renovated King Luxury Suites. Long story short, we came back at the time she told us and the room was STILL not ready. We finally got our keys at the end. The bathroom even had a stool and vanity. The room itself was not really my style. They didn't upgrade everything, mostly just the carpet, bedding and art. There was a tiny fridge underneath the T. V., but there was no coffee machine nor microwave. We ate at the buffet the first day and it was terrible. Not like how I remembered at all. The dim sum restaurant across from it would have been a better option. We took the shuttle once to walk around the strip. We should just charge it back to our room and it would be no cost to us. Well, when we checked out 2 days later, I saw the Starbucks charges on my bill. Torrentz Search Engine. Torrentz will always love you.
